Where We Came From

Steve Carr has been facilitating Mental Health and Workplace well-being courses sines 2015. 


He is an independent Instructor member approved to deliver MHFA England courses, an Associate Tutor with National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education & Grassroots, an award-winning charity and UK leader in suicide prevention, delivering SFA: Suicide First Aid, the UK’s National Qualification in Suicide Prevention.

He is an active mental health trainer that has been delivered training and talks for many organisations including Nationwide Building Society, McLaughlin & Harvey, General Dynamics Mission Systems, GWR, Richmond Fellowship, the NHS, Ocado and Hitachi.


Steve's journey of recovery started by walking from Lands End to John O’Groats, 1000 miles, raising awareness for both mental health and homelessness.  He told his story to anybody that would listen, including local and national news via papers and television.

Steve has worked in the NHS as an IPS Service Manager, integrated within AWP NHS Trust early interventions and recovery mental health teams, managing a team of employment specialists supporting people back into work after experiencing poor mental health or mental illnesses.

He has written many articles, sat on several judging panels, written blogs and co-authored a book called "Emerging proud after Suicide".

His insights and extensive expert knowledge come from both lived experience of severe poor mental health and a mental illness and recovering and academic studies.
